East Madison Community Center

Who We Are

The East Madison Community Center has been established to promote educational, recreational and community activities for all citizens in its service area. EMCC strives to enhance the opportunities of as many individuals and groups as possible, with the assistance of public and private funds, and with the support of paid and volunteer staff.

EMCC was formed in 1966, born out of a community need to help expand activities and empowerment opportunities for area youth and adults. The Center began in humble quarters within a small apartment, initially providing youth with structured activities and adults with a neighborhood-based meeting facility. Word of the Center soon spread throughout the community. Today, EMCC has evolved into a thriving multi-service center at 8 Straubel Court.

What We Do

EMCC provides social, educational, recreational and cultural programming for the east side community with a small paid staff and over 200 volunteers.
