A Tutor for Title VI Indian Education

Who We Are

The 1972 Indian Education Act established a comprehensive approach to meeting the unique needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) students. Title VI Indian Education fulfills the US Government's obligation to meeting the educational needs of AI/AN students as well as provides cultural and academic services to AI/AN students. One aspect of the program is to provide tutoring in math, science, and language arts. Tutors work in the student's school but tutoring may take place in a Madison Public Library or other convenient location located throughout Madison.

What We Do

Title VI Indian Education is a federal program designed to meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students. The primary goal is that American Indian and Alaska Native students will achieve to the same level of academic standards as other students, and are college-ready. The tutoring program is very helpful to the students it is able to serve. Teachers and parents have been very pleased with the results not to mention the direct impact it has on the students.
