Goodwill of South Central WI (SCWI)
Who We Are
Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s (SCWI) mission is to help people achieve their highest level of independence through the Power of Work.
The resale of gently used donated goods at our 13 retail stores (goodwillscwi.org/locations) and online auction site funds our mission programs including Supported Employment (SE). The SE program helps participants gain the job skills they need to find meaningful employment with local employers. Goodwill SCWI provides job coaches to support participants at their work site.
We are also invested in building skills for Goodwill team members through internal job skills and leadership training programs.
Our supportive housing mission program helps individuals with mental health challenges find stability and transition to independent living.
Goodwill SCWI practices sustainability by responsibly recycling items including computers, laptops, modems and clothing. Through resale and recycling, we keep 16 million pounds of material out of local landfills each year.
During the tax season, we partner with the IRS and Wisconsin Department of Revenue through the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program or VITA. Our trained VITA volunteer tax preparers help low-income families and individual prepare their tax returns and they answer questions and refer taxpayers to other resources as needed.
We are 100% Local, 100% Nonprofit. By donating goods or shopping at Goodwill, you are changing the lives of people in the community.
