YWCA Mission--YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

YWCA Vision--Providing leadership in our community, nation, and world in the struggle for peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people, the YWCA is committed to self-determined social change for all racial, ethnic, and economic groups. Women, men, and their families are empowered and the quality of their lives greatly improved in partnership with the YWCA. Through collaborative initiatives, we will build a community where racial and ethnic diversity are celebrated and discrimination and injustice are eliminated.

What We Do

Chartered in 1909, the YWCA Madison operates its programs from a 12-story building at the corner of East Mifflin Street on the Capitol Square and its Empowerment Center at 2040 South Park Street. The largest provider of affordable housing to women in Dane County, the YWCA is home to hundreds of women, children and families each year. YWCA Madison is dedicated to providing safe, affordable housing & shelter; education & training for finding, changing or maintaining a job; and Racial & Restorative Justice programs to create a more inclusive community.
