Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice

Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice is a state-wide interfaith organization working toward social and economic justice through education and advocacy on the local, state, and federal levels. We formed in the wake of the Uprising in Madison in 2011 to raise the progressive religious voice in support of low-income and under-served populations.
We are congregations, social justice committees, clergy, religious leaders, and people of faith. We come from all over the state of Wisconsin and from many different faith traditions. We join together to educate ourselves and our communities about the important issues facing our state and to advocate for policies and programs that address the root causes of poverty, hunger, homelessness, and economic injustice. We do this because our faith traditions teach us that it is incumbent upon each individual, and society as a whole, to see to the needs of all our citizens.
We provide workshops in advocacy, experiential programs to raise awareness of the realities of living in poverty, and opportunities to engage in advocacy and activism. We organize the Dignity at Work Coalition, which addresses issues of sustainable work that sustains families (living wage, sustainable hours, paid sick leave, paid family leave, affordable childcare, public transportation, gender and racial discrimination, and a voice at work); we engage in interfaith community building, and we organize the Dane Sanctuary Coalition to provide sanctuary and engage in advocacy in partnership with the immigrant rights community,
