Volunteer: Greet Visitors in Olbrich's Main Lobby

When visitors enter Olbrich's Botanical Center, usually the first people they encounter are the Garden Greeters in the lobby. These volunteers offer info about how to enjoy Olbrich. If you are a people-person, this is the volunteer job for you! Greeters volunteer for two 3.5 hour shifts monthly (9-12:30 or 12:30-4:00); two greeters are scheduled for each shift, 7 days a week. Training is provided. Most Olbrich Greeters sign up for a 6-month commitment and stay for years.

Students benefit from interacting with friendly, engaging volunteers who provide a unique, sensory experience. Explorer School Program is held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Oct 1-24. Students are divided into small groups. Volunteers lead an adventure in the gardens; others engage students at learning stations that focus on Wisconsin's Food Chain, Habitats & Adaptation, and Water Cycle. Shifts are 9:30-11:30 am or 12-2:15 pm. Training on the curriculum is scheduled for the morning of Sept 25. Volunteers sign up for a minimum of three shifts over the fall session. Share your love of plants with youth!
