Volunteer: High School Students: Address issues that are important to you through the By Youth For Youth Committee
WHO High school students across Dane County who: represent the demographics of Dane County have a desire to make a difference in your community and support Dane County youthWHAT Responsibilities: Participate in a youth-led committee that directs over $30,000 to youth projects and initiatives Represent the youth of Dane County to identify youths’ needs and priorities Produce and publicize a Request For Proposal, review proposals, and recommend funding for youth projects Participate in an identified community service projectPurpose: Be a voice for youth in your community Build and enhance leadership and collaboration skills Develop facilitation, note-taking, and decision making skills Distribute BYFY dollars to meet identified needs of youth in the Dane County community Connect with a diverse group of high school students across the countyWHEN & WHERE 6 month commitment from mid-October to mid-April (off over winter break) Weekly Monday evening meetings 6pm-8pm, with dinner starting at 5:45pm Meetings held at either 2059 Atwood Ave (United Way of Dane County) or 119 E.
