Our afterschool program for middle schoolers is creating a weekly career explorations group that exposes youth to professional fields they have expressed interest in. We have a few who are interested in the medical and healthcare field (forensic pathologist, anesthesiologist, pediatric surgeon) and the kids would love to meet and chat with these students and professionals. We can even design an activity around a guest speaker's topic, with supplies provided by our center.
If you are medical/healthcare professional or student in the field and have a passion for interacting with youth, please contact us to set up a day and time to visit the center. We are looking for guest speakers in December and January. *Background check is required and can be completed on our website or in-person.
Our middle school program has 6-15 youth who regularly attend. The career explorations group will meet on Mondays 3:30-5pm and Tuesdays 5-7pm.
