Call for Volunteers: Back to School Event
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County is hosting our annual Back to School Event to provide essential supplies to middle and high school students in our program. These supplies include traditional school items (backpacks, notebooks, pens, etc.), personal hygiene products, and household goods to help ensure a successful school year for the students and their families. At the beginning of August, you will be contacted regarding your volunteer shift details and any special instructions.
Event Details:
- Date: August 15, 2026
- Location: Demetral Park, Madison, WI
- Target: Approximately 180 students
Volunteer Shifts:
Set Up Shift (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM)
- Help set up for the event and arrange supplies.
- Volunteers Needed: 3-4
Event Shift & Cleanup (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
- Assist with distributing supplies, backpacks, and other items.
- Help direct traffic and distribute food.
- Assist with packing up unused supplies and loading cars.
- Volunteers Needed: 4-5
If you prefer, you can volunteer for the entire event from 10:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM.
