The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art will host its sixth biennial gala celebration of Hair Affair: The Art of Hair on Thursday, April 25, 2019 with the theme of the zodiac. During Hair Affair, high-flying hair sculptures, designed by premier Madison-area salons, will take center-stage as models descend the museum’s stunning glass staircase and mingle with guests in the MMoCA lobby. The event benefits MMoCA’s free exhibitions and education programs.
Volunteers are needed to work on Thursday, April 25 before, during, and after the event. This is a unique opportunity to get behind-the-scenes of this sell-out runway event. Volunteer opportunities typically fill up quickly.
The following is expected of all Hair Affair volunteers:
- Attend an event orientation to be scheduled (TBA).
- Pay a special reduced $35 admission fee. Come early, or stay late after your shift to enjoy the party!
- Check-in 15 minutes before your assigned shift the day of the event at the Henry Street Gallery Admissions Table.
- Note: Festive dress and wigs or creative hairstyles are encouraged at the event.
Volunteer tasks include greeting participating stylists/salons, check-in/check-out, coat check, tending the photobooth, and selling raffle tickets.
