The Camp Trail Cleanup Crew is responsible for maintaining and improving trails within the camp by clearing debris, repairing erosion damage, and ensuring pathways remain safe and accessible.
Trail Maintenance & Repair:
- Clear fallen branches, leaves, and other debris from trails.
- Repair and maintain trail surfaces by filling in holes and reinforcing eroded sections.
- Trim overgrown vegetation to keep trails accessible.
Litter and Waste Management:
- Collect and properly dispose of litter along trails and campsites.
- Empty trash and recycling bins in designated outdoor areas.
- Promote "Leave No Trace" principles among campers.
Erosion Control & Sustainability:
- Install erosion control measures like water bars or retaining walls.
- Assist in planting native vegetation to prevent soil degradation.
- Maintain drainage systems to prevent flooding or washouts.
Signage & Safety Checks:
- Ensure trail markers, signs, and maps are visible and in good condition.
- Report or repair hazards such as fallen trees, unstable bridges, or dangerous wildlife encounters.
- Monitor and maintain emergency access routes
