Join BVN volunteers to help sort, inspect, and package various food items that will be distributed to communities throughout our 16-county service area
Join United Way of Dane County Business Volunteer Network (BVN) to volunteer at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin! Second Harvest believes that everyone in our community should have equal access to nutritious, affordable and culturally-meaningful food. BVN will come together on Friday, April 24, 8:30 - 11:30 am to help sort, inspect and package various food items that will be distributed to those facing hunger in our community. When Dane County families have access to affordable, nutritious food, our whole community is healthier and stronger.
About BVN:
The Business Volunteer Network (BVN) provides businesses with education, resources and networks to further their workplace volunteer programs.

- Volunteer projects are completed while standing and moving throughout the shift, though a break area is available for your use, as needed. Repetitive movements are common throughout the shift.
- No walk-in volunteers. Thank you for helping us have well-planned shifts.
- We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your shift begins to complete the sign-in process.
- Please call our Volunteer Services Coordinator at 608.216.7214 before signing up if you need accommodations to participate. We may occasionally have a project that allows for modified or seated work.
Dress Code:
- Closed-toed shoes and shirts with sleeves (no tank-tops!) are required to volunteer.
- All jewelry must be removed prior to the start of your shift, except for rings.
- For your safety, do not use earbuds or MP3s, Bluetooth devices, etc., while volunteering. You need to be able to hear what’s happening around you.
