Our local network of more than 1,200 members provides community-wide personal and professional development opportunities, and collectively invests in and advocates for programs that support financial security for all Dane County women. Help us reach more women and their families to help them succeed in work and life.
WOMEN UNITED AMBASSADOR POSITION
An extension of the Women United Council, the Women United Ambassador program supports year-round volunteer, corporate and community engagement efforts and women’s leadership development. Ambassadors connect their workplace Women United members with opportunities for personal and professional growth, become a key partner in our new local Women’s Employee Resource Network, and help drive purpose and belonging internally within your organization.
Opportunities:
- Promote women-centered community education and engagement in your workplace
- Engage in and promote volunteer, networking and development opportunities
- Represent your workplace and your women-identified staff members in our community
- Develop leadership and communication skills
- Explore diversity, equity and inclusion best practices
- Network with local professionals, Ambassadors and Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders
- Partner your Women’s ERG with our Employee Resource Network (if applicable)
- Be part of a holistic and highly collaborative movement to strengthen community and family wellbeing in Dane County

Responsibilities and time commitment. In collaboration with United Way support staff:
- Share the latest Women United news, events and updates (internal communication): 1-5 hours annually
- Participate in (optional) and promote Women United volunteer engagements and special events: 1-10 hours annually
- Bi-annual Ambassador meetings: 4 hous annually
- Explore partnering your Women’s ERG (if applicable) with us
- Recruit and support Women United members
- Total annual time commitment = 10-20 hours
