We cultivate community-minded individuals and professionals to Lead United in their workplaces, in our community and through their philanthropy. Lead United households give between $1,000-$9,999 annually and are passionate about making Dane County a more resilient community. This donor network was created to celebrate and promote leadership giving in Dane County, provide positive donor experiences, and strengthen donor connections and understanding of the impact of their investments.
Council Position
As the governing body of the Lead United Donor Network, council members create and implement community-wide member engagement strategies centered on leadership giving with United Way of Dane County. Council members also serve as Lead United Ambassadors, extending engagement with Lead United members within their workplaces.

Responsibilities and time commitment:
All responsibilities are dependent on leadership support and work culture. Responsibilities are flexible from low to high commitment, and all tasks are supported by United Way of Dane County. Lead United engagement can be conducted through targeted communications with known members or broad communications with all staff if donor identity is unknown.
- Conceptualize, help plan and attend Lead United events and engagements with attendees
- Personal outreach to donors based on connections and council needs, e.g., personal invitations to events, thanks for attending/giving, donor check-ins, invitation to join the network during annual campaign, etc.
- Act as an Ambassador for Lead United members within your workplace (with support from leadership) by personally inviting them to Lead United events
- Support your Employee Campaign Team to promote/celebrate leadership giving during campaign
- Meets monthly as scheduled, in person preferred but hybrid available
- Total annual commitment = 15-30h
