Spend a morning in the great outdoors helping grow food for a food pantry! Sign up with your team to soak up some sun, bond with your colleagues, and take meaningful action on the issues of hunger and environmental stewardship in our community.
The Emmett Schulte Food Pantry Garden, a member of Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens, produces food for the Catholic Multicultural Center food pantry, which distributes over 6,000 pounds of food to 140 households each month. Volunteers are needed to help with seasonal gardening tasks which may include weeding, watering, harvesting early crops like lettuce and spinach, staking tomatoes, and more. No experience necessary; guidance is provided. All tools and equipment are provided including gloves, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own gloves if they prefer.
If you want to help but this date doesn't work for you, please reply to this opportunity to contact us for additional work days; we need your help all season long through mid October!
