We are looking for a group to help in our food pantry garden on August 23rd 9-11am! You will work alongside a lead volunteer to harvest veggies, do some weeding, and other garden care activities. All food harvested goes to the CMC's food pantry or meal program to be distributed to the community.
Responsibilities of the volunteer: Enjoy time outside while helping your community! Help with watering, weeding, some harvesting, and garden infrastructure such as turning compost, laying woodchips on paths, and re-staking tomatoes. All skills and experience levels are welcome. A garden leader will be present to show volunteers what to do. This is an outdoor opportunity so please come dressed and prepared accordingly (sunscreen, hat, rain jacket, close-toed shoes, etc). In the event of inclement weather, garden leaders will make the call to cancel no later than 1 hour before start time. Please note, we generally cancel only based on actual conditions and the radar, not on the forecast ahead of time.
