August is fast approaching – and so is United Way of Dane County campaign season! Help us kick off this exciting time with a fun volunteer engagement that makes a difference right here in our community.
We will be meeting at the Olin Park Pavilion to assemble snack packs and STEAM activity kits that will benefit families and individuals. We can’t wait to see you there!
We are extremely grateful for this year's Seasons of Caring sponsors: Alliant Energy, Exact Sciences, National Guardian Life and Reynolds Transfer and Storage.
Snack Packs & STEAM Kits: Why They Matter
When Dane County families have access to affordable, nutritious food and educational resources, our whole community is healthier and stronger. Food security means improved health, more stability and education is one of the building blocks of community well-being. For children, food security impacts education – children who are hungry are more likely to have behavioral issues, repeat a grade or miss school entirely. Local students are in need of these supplies and resources to properly engage in learning. Sign up today for this project and help support our students and families.
The Need in Our Community
-
Nearly 57,000 individuals live in poverty in Dane County – they would fill 71% of Camp Randall.
-
This includes nearly 9,400 children under 18 years of age.
-
The pandemic and economic downturn have negatively affected even more of our neighbors.
Your Impact: You are providing 500 snack packs and STEAM activity kits that will benefit families and individuals in Dane County.
