Assist community members to prepare for home fires and other disasters.

This position is responsible for the tasks involved to implement the preparedness program including:

• Support the annual preparedness goals, RDO objectives, and regional plan for preparedness programming through participation in meetings, projects, and local preparedness activities

• Execute assigned projects and local preparedness activities according to the activities you are trained in: Home Fire Campaign

• Serve clients and/or support Red Cross team members in providing residents with free smoke alarm installations and fire safety education

Red Cross Disaster Mental Health volunteer teams are active throughout the United States, meeting the emotional and psycho-social needs of disaster survivors and fellow Red Cross disaster workers. These teams respond to disasters of all sizes, from single family fires to large-scale events. 

What does the Red Cross do & what do we need?
The Red Cross provides shelter, feeding, emergency supplies, health and mental support to hundreds of thousands of people affected by disasters of all sizes. We are actively recruiting new Disaster Mental health team members to provide support within your local community. 

What does a Disaster Mental Health team do?
1. Respond to the immediate emotional distress and psycho-social needs of disaster survivors and Red Cross disaster responders
2. Supplement local mental health resources during times of disasters
3. Support the community in building resilience

Eligibility:
1. Currently licensed mental health professionals:
- At minimum, holds a Master's Degree in one of the mental health positions listed below; and
- Holds a current, unencumbered license from, or is registered with, any US state or territory as a social worker, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage or family therapist, or psychiatrist (any level license/registration, including non-clinical licenses such as Licensed Masters Social Worker or LMSW)
2. Current school psychologists and school counselors:
- At minimum, holds a Master's Degree in school psychology or school counseling; and
- Holds a current, unexpired license or certification as a school psychologist or school counselor issued by a state board of education
3. Current psychiatric nurses:
- Have a state license as a registered nurse; and
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a psychiatric setting, verified by a letter from a current or previous employer

Medical Screener volunteers join the blood collections staff to ensure timely processing of donors at blood drives. Medical Screeners collect and confirm donor demographics and health histories, determine procedure eligibility, and conduct physical exams (oral temperature, pulse, blood pressure). This position provides you with the opportunity to validate your training and skills at a nationally recognized organization while providing service to your community. 

Screen and examine blood donor candidates to approve or defer for health concerns.

Collection and confirm donor demographics, determine procedure eligibility.

Conduct physical exam to include oral temperature, pulse, BP and hematocrit according to procedure.

Facilitate and evaluate self-administered health history.

Comply with applicable Federal, state, and local regulations as well as all American Red Cross policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Time Commitment: minimum of two shifts per month after training commitment.

Training: Orientation to the Red Cross, virtual, classroom and on the job instruction. All training provided free of charge. 

Training will be 40 hours per week for 4 consecutive weeks through a combination of both virtual and in-person training. Please ensure your schedule can accommodate 4 consecutive weeks of training.

This summer camp our elementary participants will learn about several topics in the physical sciences through slime making. Over the course of 8 weeks, every Friday 10-11am, the kids will learn about a new topic before making their own slime about that topic. For example, in week 5 they'll be learning about volcanoes through a read-aloud and discussion. They then get to make erupting volcano slime!

If you love supporting kids' curiosity and creativity, AND you don't mind getting messy, then please consider volunteering as a slime facilitator. The facilitator would help set up the slime stations, demonstrate and guide kids through the recipe, and supervise ingredient use.

Each slime making session will last 30-40 minutes.

You are welcome to volunteer for 1 or more slime days.

Want an outlet for your writing? Consider writing about transit to contribute to the democratic process. Help give voice to would-be transit riders. Help inform the electorate that $1 in investment in public transit can return $5 on average to our economy.  Maybe you ride the bus. Maybe you do not. You can explain why, why not or something else. Do you walk, bike and/or drive a car? Why or why not? You can write about actual or anticipated experiences. Does weather matter? Does time of year matter? What would be ideal? Why?

You could write a nonproprietary column or blog for our website (www.busadvocates.org/blog.html). Accompanying text with a picture can be an additional plus. You can also pitch an opinion or article somewhere else. Letters to the Editor, columns, blogs and articles are all important. Write your own composition or help draft one with others. Get the word out.

Your work could help fulfill a classroom assignment or a requirement for community service.

Pictures are a good way to tell people about transit.  By themselves or in conjunction with text that discusses a transit situation in more depth. You might want to show one or another feature of a transit vehicle -- taxi, rental bike, accessible van, regular 40' bus or or a bigger accordian bus.  You might want to show a Bus Rapid Transit station, an electric re-charging device, a new fare meter, bike parking, the 'before and after' of shelter removal from a regular bus stop, traffic on a street with a red bus-only lane, an electronic announcement board, new and old methods of wheelchair securement, people boarding a bus through different doors, people at a bus stop by the swimming pool, people at a bus stop by the Farmers' Market etc.

Assistant Naturalists must be 14 years of age or older.

Volunteers are needed to help the staff educators at the Arboretum's Earth Focus Day Camp in June, July, and August. Prospective assistant naturalists should enjoy interacting with children, have an interest in nature, and be excited and enthusiastic about participating in outdoor games, art, and music. Ability to deal with mosquitoes, hot weather, melting popsicles, and occasional crying a plus. Morning and afternoon shifts available.

The shifts are one-week long, either mornings (8:30am to Noon) or afternoon (Noon to 3:30pm), Monday-Friday of a camp session.

All volunteers must attend an orientation session before volunteering. All adult volunteers must undergo a criminal background check before being accepted as volunteers with Earth Focus Day Camp.

Pet Visitor volunteers with well-behaved, sociable pets are needed to bring their pets in and visit with residents in Oakwood Village University Woods Retirement Community's assisted living, memory care and/or skilled nursing.

Committed and dependable persons need to get registered and volunteer a minimum of 6 months.  Registration includes getting 2 required TB tests 2 weeks in a row.  Additional information will be given and scheduling arranged between volunteers and the Life Enrichment staff for volunteer service set-up. Potential volunteers need well-behaved, sociable pets and ability to keep their pet under control when visiting. Potential volunteers also need good social skills to be courteous and respectful to residents and others when visiting.

Help prepare and maintain our beautififul gardens and grounds throughout the growing season!   Join us from 9:00-11:00am on the second Saturday of each month for our gardens and grounds workdays. This is a great opportunity to bring your family, group or team. Activities will include garden and grounds cleanup, weeding, possibly some planting, hauling and harvesting. Bring your favorite outdoor work gloves and weeding tools. We suggest wearing older clothing and long pants. The Dane Sanctuary Coalition has provided rides for many immigrants to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offices in Milwaukee, Waukegan, IL, and Chicago, as well as the United States Immigration Court in Chicago since 2019. While there are 70 individuals currently on the email distribution list, there are times when none of the volunteer drivers are available for a variety of reasons (e.g., some persons can't be away from home/Dane County for a full day, some persons are snowbirds, etc.). So, we need to recruit new volunteer drivers on an ongoing basis.

The scheduled appointments typically are for:

There have been a few rides for medical appointments for which our transportation was essential, as well as a couple of rides to consulates in Chicago to obtain identification papers.

The rides to Milwaukee or Waukegan and back generally are completed within six to eight hours.  The rides to Chicago and back are full day + events.  Dane Sanctuary Coalition is able to provide a $25 reimbursement for rides to Milwaukee or Waukegan and a $65 plus parking reimbursement for rides to Chicago.

When one of the referring agencies have an immigrant/family who has an immigrant/family who have a scheduled appointment with USCIS or Immigration Court, Dan Zimmerman, the coordinator of the volunteer driver program, sends out an email to the distribution list seeking a volunteer driver for the specific ride.  Volunteer drivers only commit to a specific ride based on their availability.  We provide rides for immigrants from around the world, not just Spanish-speaking countries.  Google Translate can meet much of the translation needs.

Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, building materials and appliances at a fraction of the retail price.

We are asking for a commitment of 1 shift/week - or every other week - for at least 3 months. Training will be provided in the form of shadowing another cashier and/or staff member, at least once, up to as many times as wanted before feeling comfortable to cashier independently.

Restore your connection with the natural world at an Arboretum restoration work party! We welcome community members to hands-on restoration work in prairies, woodlands, and wetlands.

Get outdoors this spring and restore the prairies, forests, and oak savannas of the U.W. Arboretum. Join other volunteers on the first through fourth Saturdays of each month from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Learn about these special places while removing invasive plants, preparing sites for prescribed burns, and sowing seeds. All tools, equipment, training, and refreshments are provided.  Participants should wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and be ready to get dirty. Dress for being outdoors. Work parties are canceled in case of inclement weather. Work locations vary from week to week, so check the Arboretum restoration work party page for current schedule.

No advance registration needed for individual, adult volunteers.

Groups are welcome with advance arrangements, and work days other than Saturdays can be scheduled.

Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, building materials and appliances at a fraction of the retail price. Our ReStores have diverted 12,000 tons of building materials from Dane County’s landfills, and we need help processing all of the donations. Proceeds from the ReStores go directly to building homes in Dane County.

Donations can be dropped off at Extended hands Pantry at 6402 Schroeder Rd, Madison, WI 53711. Hours are on Monday and Tuesday from noon to 6pm, and on Friday from 9am to 1pm. Other times available by appointment, or we can pick up. 

Volunteers are needed to assist our pantry guests through the food pantry and help take the groceries out to their car. There is also a free clothing and household goods area to keep neat and tidy. Helpers will also keep the pantry fully stocked. We can 100% guarantee a good time for our volunteers! The hours are 1:30-6:00pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 9:30-1:00pm on Fridays. Feel free to volunteer for whatever portion of the shift you can. 

The pantry will be closed when outside conditions are unsafe, such as snowstorms, or bitterly cold wind chills. Any closings are posted on our website and Facebook page.

Blankets, sweatshirts, and sweatpants for both adults and children offer warmth through the cold months, while new socks bring small but meaningful comfort and dignity.

Each of these items makes a profound difference. They help restore hope to someone facing difficult circumstances, improve quality of life for families, and remind our patients that their community cares deeply about their well-being.

We are searching for some volunteers to help run a pickleball tournament fundraiser benefitting Wisconsin Youth Company. Volunteers will help with registration, concessions, and attending to our raffle.

We are currently looking for someone to help mow the lawn at our 1862 Beld St location! 

Use the CMC-provided push mower to mow the property grounds. This opportunity would take place every 2 weeks or as needed. You are welcome to come in to mow anytime Monday through Friday, 9-5. Please reach out if you are interested in helping!

The CMC is in need of some extra help with the care and keeping of our grounds in the Spring through Fall months. We have many flowerbeds and a rain garden that need watering and tending too, so if you have a green thumb or just want to spend some extra time outside we would love to have your help! 

This opportunity takes place weekday mornings, preferably twice a month. Activities include pulling weeds, planting flowers, trimming plants and bushes, picking up litter, mowing the lawn, watering plants. Qualifications include enjoying working outside; ability to bend and do light to moderate lifting; comfortable working with basic yard tools; ability to work independently; basic knowledge of yard care or native plants is a plus.

We are currently looking for help in the garden as we start the 2026 gardening season! Please contact us if you want to be on our volunteer list! 

Want to help solve hunger? Assist us in growing food for those in need! Through a partnership with Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens, the Catholic Multicultural Center has a .75 acre garden (Emmett Schulte Garden) to grow fresh produce to provide our food pantry guests with all the produce they can use as well as provide fresh, local ingredients for our meal program.

From May through October many volunteers are needed to help with planting, weeding, and maintaining the garden and harvest produce to be brought directly to the CMC. No experience necessary; a garden coordinator will always be on-site to show you what to do and how to do it. This is a great opportunity to learn more about large-scale gardening and growing produce. We provide all necessary tools and supplies.

The time commitment is flexible. Volunteer sessions are regularly scheduled for Monday 4-7 pm and Wednesday 5-7pm, though sessions are periodically scheduled at other times. While volunteers can come as often or as little as they want, we do ask that people sign up before showing up to a work session. We need your help to keep great books accessible to communities 24/7. Visit Little Free Libraries in your community to distribute books! 

We can suggest where to look for free or inexpensive books, or if you already have some, you can share those too. You can find book-sharing boxes near you using our world map or free mobile app. Volunteers over 18 anywhere in the U.S. where there are Little Free Libraries can register for this opportunity.

 The Council is looking for help this spring, summer, and fall with maintaining our small sensory garden, decorative flower pots, and flowerbeds along the perimeter of the building. Volunteers are able to work on the spaces when convenient for their schedule. Mostly weeding and watering with of seasonal prep work as well.

After enrolling in our Community-Based Mentoring Program, Bigs and Littles are thoughtfully matched based on geography (within a 20-minute drive), preferences (gender, race, age, etc.), and shared interests. Once the Match is approved by Big, Little, and parent/caregiver, introductions are made and we’re off!

Matches get together 2-4 times a month for a few hours. Bigs schedule outings directly with Littles and their parent/caregiver, and are responsible for picking up and transporting their Little. Activities vary based on the interests of the Bigs and Littles, so whether it’s frisbee at the park, paint night and ice cream, or a picnic hike, each Match can define what "quality time" looks like for them. 

Starting a new relationship can be daunting for both Big and Little, but we’re here every step of the way, providing:

While the majority of our Bigs mentor their Little one-on-one, more than 10% of our Matches are Big Couples and Big Families. In these Matches, volunteer Bigs sign up with their partner, spouse, children, etc., and get matched together with one Little. NewBridge Foot Clinics bring affordable, dignified foot care to older adults across the Madison area and we need volunteers to help.  No medical experience is needed; just a willingness to help and a friendly smile.

Band Committee

This committee is responsible for listening to, assessing, recommending for booking local and area bands and DJ's.  Of specific importance to this committee is to contract with ethnically and musically diverse bands.

Logistics Committee

This committee has the responsibility of planning and coordinating the routine activities for each night of Dane Dances.

Publicity Committee

This committee ensures that Dane Dances and its mission and activities are consistently presented in a positive way to the public.

Fund-Raising Committee

This committee is responsible for fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying what funding is needed; exploring funding sources; creating strategies to approach potential sponsors; and assisting in preparation of proposals and presentations.

Dane Dances! was founded in 1999 and is one of Madison's most popular summertime events. The summer's free dance concert series will be held every Friday in August at the Monona Terrace Rooftop and needs volunteers to help make the events a great success.  We have a variety of shifts and different jobs but all of them are fun and would not be possible without our committed volunteers.

(d) Selecting the Officers who will serve on the Executive committee.

(e) Appointing successors for Board members who resign or are removed.

(f) Making decisions concerning the general business of the organization when there is a conflict with the Members under this section para C.

(g) Enhancing the Organization's public image by helping to articulate the organization's mission, accomplishments and goals, as well as gathering support from the community.

(h) Working in partnership with the Director and Fundraising Committee to raise funds from the community.

The board receives no compensation.

Board meetings are quarterly in the Madison area.

Our diaper bank distributes over 50,000 diapers each month directly to families in need, and that number keeps increasing. We serve over 1,300 children each month, as well as provide diapers to area partner agencies. Help us keep up with community demand by hosting a diaper drive at your church, school, workplace or neighborhood.

The Partner Pickup & Donation Desk volunteer assists partner pantries by pulling orders located around the Distribution Center, utilizing a hand pallet jacket, and helping load their orders into their vehicles. Additionally, they will record drop-off donations and place received donations into their designated areas of the Distribution Center.

The River is the largest and busiest food pantry in Dane County, serving over 2,000 individuals each week through our combined programs.

We are distributing groceries via curbside pickup outside of our facility.  We need volunteers to help fill orders for clients as they drive through our curbside pantry and carry the groceries out to the clients.  (Mondays would be sorting and packing boxes only - no distribution.)

A Theatre House Event Manager volunteer is needed to make an ongoing commitment serving 2-4 hours once a week in rotation with the resident volunteer team to help with basic event technical support.  The volunteer Manager will serve for the University Woods campus Theatre.

Responsibilities include microphone and film setup, supporting musicians with sound checks before concerts, remaining onsite during events to ensure sound quality, and shutting down and securing equipment afterward. 

Ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented adult (No high school/college students necessary) with required technology comfort and enjoys supporting live performances/film events.  Training will be provided.

What

The Millennium Soccer Club (MSC) is in its 25th year of providing affordable and accessible soccer programs for elementary school youth living in several of Madison's lower-income, ethnically diverse neighborhoods, many of whom might not otherwise have an opportunity to play.  These programs (offered each fall, spring, and summer) focus primarily on providing basic instruction in the fundamentals of soccer along with giving our participants an opportunity to have fun playing in a wide variety of soccer games.

Who

Our neighborhood-based programs are open to both boys and girls who will be playing together on teams in one of our two grade-level divisions: 1st/2nd and 3rd-5th.  This fall, we anticipate that MSC’s soccer programs will serve over 250 kids.

Where 

Millennium’s fall sessions will be held at 3 schools: Huegel, Leopold, and Lincoln Elementary School and 2 parks: Marlborough and Warner Park, which are located in our targeted neighborhoods in south Madison and on the east side. 

When 

The upcoming fall season will consist of six sessions on Saturdays, beginning April 25 and ending on May 23rd. We have a rain date of May 30th in case we need to cancel due to weather.

Program Set-Up

Each session, which consists of a combination practice and game, runs from 9:30-11:00am. For the first half of the session, our coaches will lead their teams through a variety of challenging activities that focus primarily on the development of good individual skills, as well as a number of basic team-related skills.  In the second half, each team will play a game against another team in its grade-level division.  Since our teams consist of only 6-8 players, the games are played 4v4 (with no goalies), which enables greater involvement by all of our players. 

Volunteers Needed 

MSC is currently seeking volunteer coaches for all of its programs this fall. Those who volunteer will coach with the same team at each of the sessions that they are available to coach.  It is anticipated, and assumed, that those who volunteer will not be available to coach at all six of our sessions because of school, travel or work commitments.

What You Can Expect as a Volunteer 

You will find that Millennium’s young players really enjoy playing soccer, are eager learners, and work well with their volunteer coaches.  Let us know if you wish to coach with someone else who is volunteering. The coaching coordinators at each of Millennium’s neighborhood sites will provide weekly practice plans and coaching tips for their coaches.

We need volunteers to help distribute lunches to youth and their families in nine different northside neighborhoods as well as several south side east side neighborhoods.  There is room for one volunteer to ride along in the MUNCH van, but we also need a volunteer to follow the van driving their personal vehicle.

Help us prepare meals to send home with the families that shop at our market! Though we had to close our dining area due to COVID, we are grateful to continue to have the opportunity to provide meals to our clients. The meals are prepared onsite by our chefs with the help of many wonderful volunteers. They are safely stored, and then they are sent home with the clients with reheating instructions so that they can be enjoyed as family meals in the home. We need help with meal prep (and occasionally distributions as well) during the following times:

Madison Birthday Boost partners with local social workers to provide fully assembled birthday celebrations for children whose families are experiencing financial or other hardship. Each child receives a themed birthday box with decorations, gifts, and everything needed to feel celebrated.

Every week, children in Madison would otherwise go without a birthday celebration. We make sure that does not happen.

We are looking for one East Madison leader and one West Madison leader to host a neighborhood birthday drop-off site.

You will not be coordinating with agencies or managing the overall system. We handle that centrally. You will not be doing this alone. We provide the materials, structure, and ongoing support.

Host a small porch-based or in-home drop-off and pick-up location

Help organize and assemble 5 to 15 birthday boxes per week

Make completed boxes available for scheduled agency pick-up

If someone enjoys leadership and wants to take on more, there is room to grow into volunteer coordination, but that is completely optional.

About 5 to 10 hours per week, usually spread across one or two evenings.

A volunteer is needed to take over for the Music Therapist as Tone Chime Choir Conductor or start out helping the therapist as Tone Chime Choir Assistant for the Oakwood Village University Woods resident Tone Chime Choir starting in February 2026.

The commitment would require a volunteer conductor or assistant to be involved weekly with 1 hour rehearsals.  In addition, the commitment would also require a conductor or assistant to be involved with and lead 2-4 performances during the year, which can be for Sunday morning worship services or concerts for residents at University Woods.  Currently 8-12 University Woods residents are involved in the Tone Chime Choir.

A prospective volunteer needs to have Tone Chime experience if possible.  The current tone chime choir is an adapted one that uses symbols to read notes and chords so any resident can participate regardless of musical background.  A new conductor or assistant could keep the adapted approach or use the more traditional approach of reading sheet music.  A full tone chime choir set is available for the choir to use and is stored on campus.

This volunteer need will be under the supervision of the Oakwood Village certified Music Therapist on staff.  The therapist will provide training for a new volunteer to be ready and comfortable in the role of conductor or assistant.

NOTE: No volunteers are needed to join and participate as Tone Chime Choir members.  Only volunteers with Tone Chime experience are needed to help in a leadership/assistant position.

Prospective volunteers will need to get registered with the Oakwood Village University Woods Volunteer Services Coordinator first to be set up.  Registration includes taking care of paperwork, background screening and TB skin tests.  It will be about a 3-week process.

Families get a social worker referral to participate, then select clothing in private and compassionate 30-minute appointment. C.A.R.D.S. Closet accepts clean and gently used seasonal YOUTH clothing and footwear, and brand-new socks and undergarments. If you want to give—and be certain that your donation benefits children in your community—drop off clothing donations in the large bin outside our store. Help reduce underwear insecurity and help provide new underwear for students. Consider hosting a new underwear drive at your workplace or with friends! All sizes are welcome for new underwear. FoodBridge delivery volunteers help reduce food insecurity by delivering groceries from local food pantries to older adults who face barriers such as limited mobility, health challenges, or lack of transportation. This support helps clients access consistent food while remaining in their homes.

Volunteers are matched with one to three older adults and typically deliver from a specific food pantry on an ongoing basis. Delivery schedules are coordinated directly between the volunteer and the older adult, allowing for flexibility and reliability. NewBridge staff provide guidance and are available for support as needed.For many clients, these regular deliveries offer more than food. Seeing a familiar face and knowing someone will show up provides reassurance, stability, and a meaningful connection to the community

What is NewBridge: NewBridge has been supporting older adults in Madison and Dane County for more than 50 years. What began as neighborhood-based senior coalitions has grown into a trusted nonprofit focused on helping older adults live safely, independently, and with dignity. Our programs are built around practical help, human connection, and meeting people where they are.

Give young children a safe, fun place to grow and learn while their parents attend adult education classes or events! Hang out in our child care room to play games, read stories, and do art activities with a small group of children ages 3 to 12. Childcare is on an as needed basis, and every 2nd Saturday of the month for the FUNNE program 9:30-11:30am.

Volunteers will work in the child care room, where we have a variety of books, games, and toys. Volunteers should enjoy spending time with children, especially younger children, and be able to keep kids engaged with various activities. Typically one to five children come to morning child care. Some children may speak a limited amount of English, but as long as you know how to have fun you need not speak any other language!  

A background check and one-time training is required before working with kids.

Currently in need of help Tuesdays 1:30-3:30 pm and Thursdays 10-12 am for food pantry distribution!

Accepting help stocking other weekdays as well. 

Help provide food to more than 80 families in need each week! The CMC is in need of volunteers to help in the food pantry various days and times of the week, please contact us to find out our current schedule needs. Pantry volunteers help with getting ready for the pantry to open and then with distributing food to guests. Tasks include greeting guests, assisting guests with getting pantry items, and weighing/bagging items.

Great customer service skills, a friendly attitude, reliability and patience are all crucial qualities for this position. The ability to do moderate lifting (15 to 40 pounds) is also very useful, along with the ability to speak Spanish or another language (though not required). Days to help available outside of hours listed above.

Home Chore Volunteers: Help older adults with everyday household tasks they can no longer safely do on their own. This support allows people to remain in their homes longer, maintain their independence, and feel safe in familiar surroundings. Tasks may include light cleaning, basic yard work, or small jobs that have become physically difficult over time

Volunteers are matched with clients based on location, availability, and comfort level. Some volunteers help one person on a regular basis, while others assist with one-time or seasonal needs. No special skills are required. Staff provide clear guidance, safety expectations, and ongoing support.

Many people we serve have no nearby family or outside help. Your time and effort can be the reason someone is able to stay where they feel most comfortable and secure.

Tar sands pipelines carry some of the dirtiest, most energy intensive and toxic fuels on the planet. We have several of them in Wisconsin, and right now we're fighting to shut down tar sands Line 5 in northern Wisconsin which is threatening the homelands and waters of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. This is their sovereign territory, yet Enbridge has refused for over a decade to remove the pipeline as asked, and instead are proposing a reroute that would put many more lands and waters at risk. Join our fight to protect indigenous people's and their rights by joining our tar sands team and help organize and generate more public opposition to this dirty pipeline. It's time to put people and the planet ahead of profits!

Join our band of tar sands pipeline fighters and help stop this dirty fossil fuel and restore justice for the Bad River Band.

Concerned about all the environmental threats we're facing? By getting involved at the local/regional level with the Four Lakes Group in south central Wisconsin, you can offer ideas, decide on activities, discuss finances, and set directions consistent with national and state Sierra Club policies and stances.

Four Lakes Group board members discuss what issues we will become involved with or take stances on, conduct various programs and activities to support key issues in this area, and also get involved in elections. It allows you to have input on local issues you care about and want to make a difference on.  We are entirely volunteer led, which means you can play an important role.

We have fall elections, but can contact us at any time you're interested since we may have openings. Sierra Club membership is required, but you can easily join if you are not. We meet once a month - often online. time commitment is generally several hours a month, but depends on your interests and level of commitment that fits for you. Join us to make a difference, learn leadership and organizational skills, or make connections and build your resume.

Especially with so many data center proposals, many utilities want to build new gas power plants, and continue our reliance on fossil fuels. This could result in significant escalation in energy demand, and major hikes in utility bills. Our clean energy goals could also be in serious trouble.

We're also fighting for energy justice. Many people are already burdened by unaffordable energy bills as utilities continue to jack up rates. We're working to get the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to stop permitting fossil fuels and provide affordable bills and programs.

If you want to fight utility greed and stop fossil fuels and new gas infrastructure, join our Beyond Coal to Clean Energy team and help us provide a clean energy future with renewable energy solutions. We meet the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm online.
