Volunteer: Bring Your Smile and Greet WayForward Food & Clothing Donors!You can help make it possible for WayForward to have an incoming supply of food and clothing for guests. As a Donor Greeter you will: Warmly greet food or clothing donors at the Distribution Center and follow established messaging and procedures Help donors fill out a donation slip and make sure the information is complete Sort food donations, as time permits Clean and tidy volunteer area at end of shiftDonations ebb and flow so this is a great volunteer assignment for someone who is flexible and willing to help sort food, complete other small tasks, or who would like some quiet time to work on something of their own - read a book, bring a craft, work on your laptop, etc. The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one regular shift on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for at least 3 months. The dedicated volunteers who form the Clean Team meet every Thursday afternoon at the Way Forward distribution center to make the food pantry and clothing center shine for our guests and to maintain best practices for health and safety. It's not high profile work, but as the Clean Team members say, "You make a difference in just 1.5 hours a week and you get to see the results of your work before you leave. It's a great team. Everyone works well together and we have a great time." No experience is necessary and all training will be provided including ongoing support and training, as needed, from WayForward staff and experienced volunteers.
