Heartland Hospice is seeking compassionate Vigil Volunteers to provide a comforting presence for patients during their final hours of life.

The role of a Vigil Volunteer is simple yet incredibly meaningful: to be there. When patients are nearing the end of life and may not have family or loved ones present, Vigil Volunteers offer companionship, comfort, and peace at the bedside.

Volunteers are the HEART of Heartland Hospice.

A gentle presence, a reassuring smile, a quiet moment of companionship. These small acts can provide tremendous comfort to both patients and families during one of life's most important transitions.

As a Vigil Volunteer, you may:

Sit quietly with a patient during their final hours Offer a calm and comforting presence Read, play soothing music, or hold a patient's hand when appropriate Support family members who are present Help ensure that no patient dies alone Work alongside the hospice care team to provide compassionate companionship Why Become a Vigil Volunteer?

Heartland Hospice is seeking dedicated Administrative Volunteers to help support our care teams and ensure they can focus on what matters most: providing exceptional care and comfort to patients and families.

Our team members rely on strong administrative support to stay in the field serving patients. Your efforts behind the scenes help make compassionate care possible.

As an Administrative Volunteer, you may assist with:

Assembling admission packets and binders Organizing and transferring files Scanning and uploading documents Data entry and report preparation Making phone calls Labeling educational materials and mailings General office and clerical support Why Volunteer in Our Office?

Heartland Hospice is seeking Veteran Volunteers to visit and support fellow Veteran patients through companionship, conversation, and shared understanding.

Many Veterans find comfort in connecting with someone who truly understands military service. Through our Vets for Vets Volunteer Program, we match Veteran Volunteers with Veteran patients who may share similar experiences, values, or backgrounds. Even across different branches, eras, and generations, Veterans often form meaningful connections through their shared service.

As a Veteran Volunteer, you might:
