Sunshine Place
Sunshine Place provides comprehensive services that support essential needs through community engagement and partnerships. Through our own programs and onsite partner agencies, we provide one location where families and individuals in Sun Prairie and eastern Dane County can access resources and opportunities for help with food, housing, and other barriers to stability.
Sometimes small steps lead to big change. Such is the story of Sunshine Place, a nonprofit organization that cultivates community connections to spread rays of hope for individuals, families, and children in need. The organization began in 2001 as the vision of a group of citizens who felt called to help all citizens in the community thrive. Their vision became a reality in 2007 when Sunshine Place opened its doors as a single point of access for the local food pantry and The Red Barn, which then operated at separate sites. Today, Sunshine Place has grown into a robust community resource hub where families and individuals facing hardship can access help with housing, food, and other barriers to family and household stability. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit houses both its own programs as well as space for partner agencies to co-locate services onsite. This unique “one stop shop” model fosters collaboration and service efficiency and leads to improved outcomes for those seeking help
