Holy Wisdom Monastery

Holy Wisdom Monastery, located in Middleton, WI, and overlooking Lake Mendota, is a non-denominational spirituality center and Benedictine monastery with a retreat and guest house. The campus, situated on 130 acres of restored prairie and woods, includes a lake, nature trails and two buildings used by groups for affordable meeting and event space, overnight accommodations and meals. Our walking trails, meditation trail and various offerings are available to the public.
The monastery’s main building was awarded the highest rating in the US for environmental and energy conservation design in 2010 and is still one of the highest rated eco-designed buildings in the United States.
The Monastery is home to an ecumenical women’s religious community, Sunday worshiping community and more. Prayer, hospitality, justice and respect for all of creation form the heart of these communities. We welcome you to learn more about us and how you might find yourself at home here. All are welcome.
