Dane County Community Restorative Court

The CRC provides 16 hours of training for community members to become "Peacemakers." The respondent, harmed party and Peacemakers meet in a restorative justice process to create an agreement outlining steps the respondent will take to repair the harm. Only those community members that have participated in the Peacemaker Training can volunteer to participate in a circle with CRC.

CRC is designed for young people 17-25 years old who have committed a misdemeanor crime or have received a municipal citation in Dane County. Referrals are provided by law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney's Office. CRC involves people working together to seek a resolution to harm done to individuals and communities by criminal or unlawful behavior.
