Foundation for Black Women's Wellness

The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness (FFBWW) will create a world where Black women and girls live long, healthy, happy, thriving lives unhampered by preventable illnesses and characterized by strong bodies, stable minds, fulfilled spirits, and dreams realized. Through our annual health summit, Black Women's Wellness Day, FFBWW aims to inform, inspire, and empower women and girls of African descent to build and sustain healthy, wellness-centered lives. Founded by Lisa Peyton-Caire in 2008, Black Women's Wellness Day was first observed in Bowie, Maryland on Friday, May 22, 2009 in honor of Ms. Peyton-Caire's mother Roberta W. Peyton who succumbed to heart disease at the age of 64 on May 22, 2006. Since that time, the event has brought hundreds of women of all ages into the movement to improve their health and wellness through a fun, entertaining, and information-packed experience where health advocates, medical professionals, wellness practitioners, and survivors come together to share life-saving, life-enhancing information, testimonies, and transformation stories.
Established in June 2012, The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is a Wisconsin based non-profit organization committed to eliminating health disparities and other barriers impacting the lives of African American women and girls.
