Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR)

Who We Are

Madison School & Community Recreation is the public recreation provider for residents of Madison. MSCR is a division of the Madison Metropolitan School District. MSCR has been the local recreation provider in Madison for 85 years, providing a wide variety of opportunities, including: youth and adult sports, art programs, elementary and middle school clubs, elementary after-school care, senior fitness programs, and much more. Activities are offered year round in neighborhood schools, parks, community centers and at the Hoyt Building. Program guides with detailed program information are distributed via the Sunday Wisconsin State Journal and mailed directly to residents of the Madison Metropolitan School District who do not receive the Sunday paper. These guides are distributed in March, August and November, and can be found at local libraries throughout the year, and at the MSCR office at 3802 Regent Street, in the former Hoyt School Building.

What We Do

The mission of Madison School & Community Recreation is to enhance the quality of life for individuals in the Madison Metropolitan School District and for the community by providing recreation and enrichment opportunities year-round that are accessible to all.
