Home Chore Volunteers: Help older adults with everyday household tasks they can no longer safely do on their own. This support allows people to remain in their homes longer, maintain their independence, and feel safe in familiar surroundings. Tasks may include light cleaning, basic yard work, or small jobs that have become physically difficult over time
Volunteers are matched with clients based on location, availability, and comfort level. Some volunteers help one person on a regular basis, while others assist with one-time or seasonal needs. No special skills are required. Staff provide clear guidance, safety expectations, and ongoing support.
Many people we serve have no nearby family or outside help. Your time and effort can be the reason someone is able to stay where they feel most comfortable and secure.
What is NewBridge: NewBridge has been supporting older adults in Madison and Dane County for more than 50 years. What began as neighborhood-based senior coalitions has grown into a trusted nonprofit focused on helping older adults live safely, independently, and with dignity. Our programs are built around practical help, human connection, and meeting people where they are.
