Location: Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa St Madison, WI 53704
About us: As a chapter of Slow Food USA, Slow Food Madison strives to bring people together to enjoy the pleasures of life while promoting and sustaining the producers of good, clean and fair food and beverages within southern Wisconsin.
About the project: We host a community meal during the Goodman Community Center's Food Pantry every Wednesday evening. We welcome volunteers with all levels of culinary skills to help prepare and serve about 40-70 people each week. This is a great opportunity to hone your cooking skills and share a meal with your community!
Time: The full shift runs from 5pm until 8pm. We ask volunteers to commit to at least one full shift per month, but are also open to accommodating conflicting schedules. Meal prep and cooking happen from 5-6:30, meal service is from 6:30-7:30, and clean-up is from 6:30-8. If you're interested in getting involved, please email info@slowfoodmadison.org or andy@slowfoodmadison.org.
