We cultivate community-minded individuals and professionals to Lead United in their workplaces, in our community and through their philanthropy. Lead United households give between $1,000-$9,999 annually and are passionate about making Dane County a more resilient community. This donor network was created to celebrate and promote leadership giving in Dane County, provide positive donor experiences, and strengthen donor connections and understanding of the impact of their investments.

Ambassador Position: 

An extension of Lead United Council, the Lead United Ambassador program supports year-round volunteer, corporate and community engagement efforts with Lead United members in your workplace. Ambassadors, along with their campaign team and leadership, ensure that your Lead United members are thanked and celebrated for their community investments. This is an opportunity for someone to passionately promote the impact of your staff leadership giving and United Way of Dane County, leverage their professional network to deepen relationships within the community, develop leadership skills, and drive connection, communication, and purpose internally within their organization. All responsibilities are flexible in time commitment, and we encourage creativity to shape this role and its responsibilities to accommodate your workplace culture.

Responsibilities and time commitment:

*All responsibilities are dependent on leadership support and work culture. Responsibilities are flexible from low to high commitment, and all tasks are supported by United Way of Dane County. Lead United engagement can be conducted through targeted communications with known members or broad communications with all staff if donor identity is unknown

  • Share latest Lead United and United Way of Dane County news, events, volunteer opportunities within your organization: 1-3 hours annually
  • Thank and celebrate Lead United staff members by demonstrating impact of leadership giving at your organization: 1-3 hours annually
  • Thank and celebrate Lead United staff members by planning, promoting and participating in a special event (e.g., luncheon, volunteer engagement, social): 1-6 hours annually
  • Work closely with the Employee Campaign Manager and Campaign Team to plan and strategize campaign; promote leadership giving at the Lead United and Step-Up level during annual campaign: 1-6 hours annually during workplace campaign season
  • Meet with other Lead United members and volunteers for latest updates and networking opportunities: 1-4 hours annually
