At Heartland, we consider the chance to be involved in the lives of our patients and families both a sacred opportunity and a privilege. The love, respect and care our hospice volunteers provide is vitally important to our patients' overall well-being during challenging times.
Hospice volunteers say that being intimately involved with another person's death gives them a greater appreciation for life. Some say it makes them more grateful and less susceptible to getting ruffled over life's smaller hassles such as long lines and traffic jams [source: Hospice Volunteer Association].
Our Administrative Volunteers assist in ensuring our Care Teams are prepared and ready to attend a death, visit a grieving family member, honor veterans, train a new staff member, or admit a new patient to our services. Our Social Workers, Nurses, Physicians, CNAs, Spiritual Care Coordinators, Music Therapists, Art Therapists, Dietitians, Physical Therapists, and Bereavement Teams need the office support to be in the field and accomplish their tasks. From assembling admission binders, to transferring files, to running data pulls, to making phone calls, to labeling pamphlets, to scanning files: we will accommodate your skill sets to find the perfect fit for you.
We need your help!
If office support is your specialty, please consider joining our team!
