Did you know that kids learn to read until third grade, after which they read to learn? That’s why early education and literacy support is so important! Help us provide backpacks with supplies for local students– helping them to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Because when more kids have what they need to keep pace with their classmates, our entire community is smarter and better positioned to succeed across generations.
Backpacks will go to children and families receiving services from The Road Home Dane County (a United Way partner nonprofit dedicated to ending family homelessness in Dane County).
Help us reach our goal of providing 250 backpacks! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families and teachers in our community. You can help by:
- Purchasing School Supplies Online– Buy the most needed supplies from our Amazon Wishlist to be stuffed into backpacks at the event. Supplies will be delivered directly to United Way of Dane County. You can access our Wishlist here: https://a.co/iTuANjk or email volunteer@uwdc.org to learn more.
- Volunteering at LINC’s Back 2 School Bash– Fill backpacks with school supplies at Summit Credit Union on Wednesday, July 24, 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
- Sponsoring a Backpack– Make a donation of $30 to cover the cost of school supplies for one student. Choose the “make a donation” ticket type through the Back 2 School Bash Eventbrite.
