Business Volunteer Network is partnering with Clean Lakes Alliance!
Join United Way of Dane County Business Volunteer Network (BVN) to volunteer with Clean Lakes Alliance. A champion of healthy waters and a thriving community that benefits all, Clean Lakes Alliance is devoted to improving the water quality of the lakes, streams and wetlands of the Yahara River Watershed. BVN volunteers will help gather native prairie seeds which will be will be used to create and restore native plantings throughout Dane County.
Why does this help our lakes? The more native plants we have surrounding our lakes, the healthier our waters will be. Native plants are incredibly well adapted to capture and filter contaminated runoff before it enters our lakes, mitigate flooding, prevent erosion, stabilize our shorelines, capture additional carbon and provide valuable habitat for pollinators and wildlife. All to say, the greener our shores, the bluer our waters!
We'll meet at Shelter 2 in Lake Farm County Park. Here is a Google pin for the parking lot located nearest the shelter.
