Madison Area Bus Advocates
Madison Area Bus Advocates was formed in 2006 to provide an independent citizen voice on bus transit issues in the Greater Madison Area. We are bus users and friends who want the Madison Area to have an improved public transportation system that in reality supports the dignity and freedom of all individuals, creates an open, hospitable and welcoming community, respects the environment, opens economic opportunity to all and moves people to where they need to go. Our website www.busadvocates.org (with pictures) has much more detail as to who we are, what our Manifesto is, what various volunteer activities could be, and what some of our positions are. We are a totally volunteer-run organization that meets together monthly, has an e-mail listserve, and maintains a web site.We are incorporated in the State of Wisconsin and have Federal nonprofit [501(c)(3)] status. We engage in research, education, partnership and advocacy.
Our vision is of an expanded and improved urban and regional bus system that operates all the time, is safe, provides fast and frequent service, is affordable, and makes it unnecessary to own a car.
